Environmental protection and science

Living closely with the environment

The perception of the environment is slowly changing: it is no longer simply there, in abundance, a matter of course. Environmental issues exert increasing influence in our lives. In order to manage environmental impacts, we need to understand them better and in order to understand them we need to screen them in a regular and standardized manner.

Mountains with their typical rock formations that have not changed for centuries are today being set in motion by climate change. Glaciers are receding, rivers are drying up or shifting their beds in events of extreme weather.

This is where our fast, precise and inexpensive surveying opens the door to the documentation of changes – a documentation that is a valid basis for management. A visualization allows us to clearly communicate different scenarios and development perspectives.

Ocean Maps engages in active environmental management by documenting environmental changes on a regional level, helping to evaluate options and increasing safety.

EH Horizon 2020

As part of the EU Horizon 2020 Project for Coral Reefs Protection, we were asked by the European Commission to support the "4D Reef" project on coral reefs in murky waters.
